Neighborhoods Series – Üsküdar
Step into the lively world of Üsküdar, where the Bosphorus breeze, historic mosques, and irresistible street food create one of Istanbul’s most charming neighborhoods. The experience begins with a beautiful ferry ride across the Bosphorus, one of the most enjoyable ways to arrive in the city.
From the moment you step into Üsküdar Square, the atmosphere is unmistakable — ferries arriving, tea glasses clinking, locals shopping at markets, and the elegant Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, designed by the great architect Mimar Sinan, rising gracefully beside the waterfront.
As we wander through the streets, you’ll explore colorful food markets, small bakeries, and lively soup houses, tasting olives, cheeses, pastries, and simple local favorites along the way.
During the Üsküdar experience, we enjoy a hot beverage at Tebessüm Café, a social initiative where individuals with Down syndrome are actively involved in daily operations, creating an inclusive and community-based experience.
